Fort Worth Biosolids Dewatering and Processing Facility
In 2020, the City of Fort Worth partnered with Synagro of Texas-CDR (Synagro) to provide a long-term solution to its biosolids management needs. Commencing in April of 2020, Synagro assumed operation of the city’s current biosolids management facility and program, and simultaneously designed-permitted-and-constructed the drum drying facility which Synagro will operate for up to twenty years.
The new drying facility will process 100 percent of the biosolids produced by the city’s Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility (VCWRF) as Class A biosolids. With the capacity to treat up to 166 million gallons of wastewater per day, the VCWRF is one of the largest in Texas.
