Liberty Compost Facility

Synagro’s Liberty Compost Facility produces high-quality compost for commercial agriculture using recycled biosolids, food and green waste. Liberty began producing compost more than 30 years ago. Today, the Liberty facility continues to refine the compost’s mixture. Liberty supplies commercial farmers with large volumes of compost via our transportation services and/or other approved sub-contractors.

Liberty Compost developed the first full-scale, micropore-covered composting system for VOC control with a verified control efficiency of more than 95%. Reaching this challenging goal earned the facility the Best Available Control Technology designation by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. This system has composted more than one million tons of biosolids since commissioning in 2012. In addition, it meets the Class A pathogen and vector attraction reduction requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 40 CFR 503s.
