Annual Contribution Commitment to the Community Began When the South Kern Compost Manufacturing Facility Was Established

BALTIMORE, Maryland, November 15, 2018 – Synagro Technologies, Inc., the preeminent provider of biosolids and residuals solutions services in the United States since 1986, donated $25,000 to the Taft College Foundation (TCF) at its annual Cougar Cookout on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Taft, California. The donation is part the $75,000 annual commitment Synagro made to Taft and the surrounding communities when it established the South Kern Compost Manufacturing Facility (SKCMF).

“Synagro has donated more than $200,000 to Taft College over the last decade,” said Sheri Horn-Bunk, executive director, TCF. “In celebration of Synagro’s commitment to student success at Taft College, the Taft College Foundation is pleased to announce the naming of the Synagro Writing and Language Lab at the Taft College Learning Center.”

“Synagro has been pleased to support a variety of Taft College programs over the years,” explained Robert Rankin, site manager, SKCMF, Synagro. “The SKCMF facility leadership team evaluates all opportunities to determine which best support Synagro’s vision a cleaner, greener world so these have included energy technology, veterans center engineering, the Transition to Independent Living program and the mobile STEM Lab.”

The Synagro Writing and Language Lab will serve approximately 2,000 students each year providing a quiet environment where students can work on class assignments and papers. An unveiling ceremony is being planned for January 2019.
