Annual Contribution Commitment to the Community Began When the South Kern Compost Manufacturing Facility Was Established

BALTIMORE, Maryland, May 1, 2018 –Synagro Technologies, Inc., the preeminent provider of biosolids and residuals solutions services in the United States since 1986, has donated $5,000 to the 17thAnnual Great American Cleanup event in Bakersfield, California. The event, a program of Keep America Beautiful,took place Saturday, April 21, 2018 and is organized by Keep Bakersfield Beautiful, a not-for-profit environmental organization located in Bakersfield.

The donation is part the $75,000 annual commitment Synagro made to Taft and the surrounding communities when it established the South Kern Compost Manufacturing Facility (SKCMF).

“The SKCMF facility leadership team evaluates all opportunities to determine which best support Synagro’s vision a cleaner, greener world,” explained Robert Rankin, site manager, SKCMF, Synagro. “We support this event because it is about keeping our communities and our world clean through a day dedicated to community beautification.”

“This will be our fourth year participating,” added Jamie Little, community engagement specialist, SKCMF, Synagro. “During that time, as many as 13 Synagro employees removed litter from abandoned alleys and lots, and we helped clean up a community garden by fertilizing, mowing, planting, raking and weeding.”

The Keep America Beautiful Great American Clean Up is one of the largest community service events in the nation. As part of the Great American Clean Up and Keep Bakersfield Beautiful, SKCMF employees will be out with boots on the ground participating in graffiti removal, litter pick up and tree planting.
